Chat FAQs

When is the library's chat service available?

The service is available whenever the Lewis Library and/or Information Commons are open.


Will a librarian answer right away or will I have to wait?

You may have to wait a few minutes for a response if we are helping users in person or on the phone. Questions are answered in the order received.


How can I get assistance if library chat is unavailable?

We can also answer your questions by email, phone, or in person. See the top of this page for all the options.


Who can use the chat service?

Our intended audience for this service is Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences students, faculty, and staff.


In Person

On the Albany campus the Lewis Library is located on the second floor of the east wing of the O'Brien Building. The Reference Desk is on the right end of the Circulation Desk as you enter the library.

On the Vermont campus the Information Commons is located in Room 101, directly left after the main entrance to the building.
